Recently XDR participated in a unique summer camp experience for homeless children at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles. The camp was organized by the Kids Creativity Empowerment Organization with the ambitious goal of inspiring the children to rise above their present state and through education and hard work find success in life. The children, ages 6-17 years, participated in all types of classes from music and dance to yoga and nutrition. Led by Sandra Gonzales, XDR’s Manger of Clinical Support, XDR joined other volunteers and members of the community in donating time and supplies. Local food trucks also donated hot lunches to the kids each day. The summer camp was a huge success and the Kids Creativity Empowerment Organization hopes to host the event again next Summer.
